Course Description

This 40 hour curriclum is designed to meet all the reqirements for a “Basic, Intermediate, and Rope course” as set forth in Kentucky Administrative Regulation 106 KAR 1:390 under the Statutory Authority of Kentucky Revised Statue 39F.210. to receive a Certificate of Completion from the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management, students must be checked off on all the intermediate skill and knowledge items posted on the KYEM Form “Technical Rope Rescue Technician Level training Record” issued in 2013. The curriculum is also designed to meet all the requirements, other than the final AHJ Evaluator sign-off, of the NFPA 1006- “Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qaulifications – Technical Rope Rescuer Level 1.
Student Criteria
This course is open to all Emergency Management, Rescue, Fire, Emergency Medical, and Law Enforcement personnel or any other organization having responsibility in searching for missing or lost people. Students must be able to pass a fitness test to take the class. This class is a 40 Hour class taken over two weekends. In order tto obtain a certificate

MAXIMUM registrations for this class is 12 students and must be received by May 24th, 2024. You are considered accepted as a student in this class upon receipt of your application. Letters of acceptance will not be sent. Meals, lodging, and travel expenses are the responsibility of the student and will NOT be reimbursed by KYEM.
