Course Description
This comprehensive course equips responders with emergency response tactics applicable to incidents involving MC-306/DOT-406 tankers. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, covering activities such as dome clamping, upright and emergency shutoff activation, valve control, leak countermeasures, tanker drilling, grounding and bonding, transfer operations and foam application. The course includes tactical considerations, container assessment, leak control options, and flaring operations. Additionally, each student will receive a set of Tanker Emergency Operations/FoamIQ Smart Charts to enhance their understanding and application of the acquired knowledge.
Student Criteria:
This course is open to all Emergency Management, Rescue, Environmental Response, Public Health, Fire, Emergency Medical, Law Enforcement personnel or any organization having responsibility for responding to a hazardous materials incident.
Special Notes:
Advance student registration is REQUIRED and must be received by August 17, 2026, to participate in this course. MAXIMUM number of students seats is 30. Meals Lodging, and travel arrangements/expenses are the responsibility of the student and will not be reimbursed by KYEM unless otherwise noted.
