Course Description
This 4-hour course is tailored by fire departments tasked with addressing flammable fuel fires and spills. This course combines both theoretical and practical components to enhance the expertise of firefighters in handling such incidents. By augmenting their knowledge, skills, and capabilities, participants will be better equipped to respond to flammable fuel spills and fires. The course emphasizes swift decision-making using reference chart systems to assess fuel spills, fires, and foam requirements efficiently. Furthermore, it aims to broaden firefighters proficiency in foam response techniques.
Student Criteria:
This course is open to all Emergency Management, Rescue, Environmental Response, Public Health, Fire, Emergency Medical, Law Enforcement personnel or any organization having responsibility for responding to a hazardous materials incident.
Special Notes:
Advance student registration is REQUIRED and must be received by August 17, 2026, to participate in this course. MAXIMUM number of students seats is 30. Meals Lodging, and travel arrangements/expenses are the responsibility of the student and will not be reimbursed by KYEM unless otherwise noted.
