Course Description
This course is tailored for students who have previously completed the comprehensive two-day PropaneIQ class, aiming to expand upon their existing knowledge by delving into larger tanks. Its purpose is to provide a refresher and in-depth review of propane behavior, as well as the terminology and application of valves and adapters featured in Propane Emergency Response Kits A/B. Additionally, the course offers hands on experience with leak control techniques using custom props, which simulate realistic leaks on Bobtails, transport, rail cars, and bulk storage tanks – an aspect not covered in the PropaneIQ curriculum.
Student Criteria:
This course is open to all Emergency Management, Rescue, Environmental Response, Public Health, Fire, Emergency Medical, Law Enforcement personnel or any organization having responsibility for responding to a hazardous materials incident.
Special Notes:
Advance student registration is REQUIRED and must be received by June 22, 2026, to participate in this course. MAXIMUM number of students seats is 30. Meals Lodging, and travel arrangements/expenses are the responsibility of the student and will not be reimbursed by KYEM unless otherwise noted.
