Course Description

This comprehensive Hazardous Materials Technician Course is designed to prepare emergency responders to safely and effectively manage hazardous materials incidents. Aligned with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and NFPA 472/1072 standards, the course equips participants with the advanced knowledge and hands-on skills required to respond to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) emergencies.

Student Criteria:

This course is open to Firefighters, EMS, Law Enforcement, and other emergency responders having responsibility for responding to a hazardous materials incident. Pre-requisites Required – (Hazmat Awareness, and Hazmat Operations).

**Copies of these course completion certificates must be provided before class to the POC listed below.**

Special Notes:

Advance student registration is REQUIRED and must be received by February 25, 2026, in order to participate in this course. MAXIMUM # of student seats are 30. Meals Lodging, and travel arrangements/expenses are the responsibility of the student and will not be reimbursed by KYEM unless otherwise noted.
