Course Description
HazMatIQ Tox-Medic provides comprehensive instruction tailored for medics, EMT’s, Medical Staff and HazMat responders equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage toxicological emergencies. This course covers a wide range of topics, including toxicology fundamentals, recognition and diagnosis of poisoning, treatment modalities, and patient management strategies. Upon completion of the Tox-Medic training, participants will be better prepared to confidently assess, diagnose, and manage toxicological emergencies in diverse clinical settings, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Student Criteria:
This course is open to all Emergency Management, Rescue, Environmental Response, Public Health, Fire, Emergency Medical, Law Enforcement personnel or any organization having responsibility for responding to a hazardous materials incident. HazMat Awareness and Operations class would be beneficial to the student.

Special Notes:
Advance student registration is REQUIRED and must be received by December 10, 2025 in order to participate in this course. MAXIMUM # of students seats are 30. Meals Lodging, and travel arrangements/expenses are the responsibility of the student and will not be reimbursed by KYEM unless otherwise noted.
